Maximum freedom in machine design: With XTS

Beckhoff is beginning a new chapter in mechanical engineering with its highly compact eXtended Transport System (XTS). In combination with PC-based control technology, XTS offers maximum construction freedom with a minimum of components – motor, mover and guide rails. A variety of different geometries can be selected and thereby completely new machine concepts implemented for packaging, assembly technology, sorting or bottling: with continuous material flows, individual product transport and even start/stop function for individual products in the continuous product flow.

XTS: Optimal flexibility in production

More and more markets must deal with rapid change. Manufacturing companies have to offer more complex products and product variants in order to meet consumer demands. Moreover, they have to flexibly adapt their products to country-specific characteristics and modify them accordingly. XTS enables highly flexible production so that changes in production can be initiated quickly, almost at the press of a button.  XTS

  • Flexible production in relation to colour, format or lot sizes
  • Product and format changeovers during operation
  • Changes and adjustments at the press of a button for flexible package sizes and units
  • Lot size 1
  • Shorter time to market

Many-core control: Maximised computing power with 36 processor cores

To accommodate the rising demands posed by the Smart Factory with highly intelligent machines and more connected production systems, Beckhoff is introducing one of the most powerful controllers currently available with its C6670 industrial server. It is available with 12, 24 or 36 processor cores and from 64 to 2,048 GB of RAM. With many-core machine control, additional control functions for production lines can be executed on a single CPU or e.g. complex XTS applications involving an increased number of movers. This new level of computing power can be fully leveraged with TwinCAT 3.1. C6670

AX8000: The compact multi-axis servo system

The new AX8000 system for space-saving installation enables high-precision positioning and machining operations with extremely short control cycles. Other highlights include fast installation and commissioning thanks to the simple plugging feature for the axis modules and direct integration of safety, mains filter, and OCT. AX8000

Universal multi-touch panel series

Universal multi-touch panel series

With a scalable range of active and passive panels, the multi-touch panel series from Beckhoff provides attention-getting appearance on machines. Display sizes from 7 to 24 inches as well as versions with different connections and processor levels provide the user with maximum variety and flexibility. Customer-specific requirements such as the extension of functions via fingerprint scanners, emergency stop buttons or custom colour designs are flexibly implemented. With industry-specific expertise on full display, the CP3915 and CP3918 multi-touch panels are optimised for the requirements of packaging machine operators. Multi-touch
