Beckhoff Automation at Hanover Fair 2008 Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the Beckhoff booth On her round tour of this year’s Hanover Fair, to mark the opening of the industrial trade fair on 21st April 2008, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the Verl-based company Beckhoff Automation GmbH, which is presenting itself in the ‘Application Park’ with basic and future technologies on the subject of PC-based automation. Managing Director Hans Beckhoff explained the trendsetting ‘eXtreme Fast Control Technology’ to Dr. Merkel.
XFC technology increases profitability and improves the ecobalance The graduate physicist Hans Beckhoff presented the XFC fast control technology to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel as a technological highlight. The Chancellor was accompanied by Annette Schavan, German Minister of Education and Research; Christian Wulff, Prime Minister of Lower Saxony; and Sepp D. Heckmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Messe AG. “Beckhoff is the world leader in the field of high-speed machine controllers. The XFC technology introduced by Beckhoff currently allows an improvement in the reaction rate of a machine controller by a factor of 10”, explains Hans Beckhoff. The basis for this is an optimised control and communication architecture, which consists of a modern Industrial PC, ultra fast I/O terminals, the EtherCAT Ethernet system, and the TwinCAT automation software by Beckhoff. This leads to better control quality and faster sequences on the machine, so that the material, energy and production efficiency is significantly optimised. The use of XFC technology hence increases the profitability of production while at the same time improving the ecobalance. Economy and ecology benefit in equal measure from eXtreme Fast Control Technology. Beckhoff Automation has two booths at Hanover Fair this year. In Hall 9, Booth F06, Beckhoff presents its automation solutions at its main booth: control technology, drive technology, bus systems and communication components. The additional appearance in the “Application Park” in Hall 17, Booth D26, is dedicated entirely to the subject of PC Control. Together with Intel, Microsoft and other partners from industry and research, Beckhoff presents basic and future technologies. In PC Control technology, Beckhoff has created a standard that has established itself worldwide and is used in the widest variety of applications and industries. Beckhoff at Hanover Fair 2008 |
