The annual Control Engineering magazine awards took place for the 26th time in 2013. More than 100 products from 60 countries were nominated. One of the winning criteria for this new generation of Embedded PCs was the fact that they support multi-core processors. This means that they can cover performance ranges in a DIN rail mountable format that previously only Industrial PCs could reach.
“Winning an Engineers’ Choice Award with the CX2000 is encouraging validation from the U.S. engineering community that Beckhoff is a recognised leader in PC-based control technology,” said Andreas Thome, Product Manager PC Control, Beckhoff. “Of course, our innovation in Embedded PC technology will only accelerate so look to Beckhoff not just today, but also tomorrow for even more exciting solutions in this category.”
This year's Control Engineering Award is the third time Beckhoff has had a winning Embedded PC. In 2006 Beckhoff won the award with the CX1020 Embedded PC and again in 2008 with the CX1030 Embedded PC. The 2013 award once again underlines the expertise of Beckhoff as manufacturer of PC-based automation components and systems.
