Beckhoff at CeBIT: Hall 2, Stand C18

Focus on Industrial PCs and Building Automation

Beckhoff will present its open automation system based on PC-based control technology for the first time at CeBIT, from 9th-15th March in Hannover. The main focus at stand C18 in hall 2, is Industrial PC technology and automation solutions in the area of building automation.

CeBIT which has been going since 1986, is the worlds leading trade fair in 2006, for development and trends in the information and communications technology market. Beckhoff wants to open up further market opportunities with their presence at CeBIT: Industrial PCs, I/O components and TwinCAT real-time control software, whose applications are focussed on machine and plant construction, can also be used outside the area of automation.

The robust and reliable Industrial PCs and Control Panel are used for example in collection of operating data, for operation and observation or for information displays. The long-term availability of devices as well as high quality and components based on open standards plays a very important role. Embedded PCs make modular IPC technology available in miniature format for top-hat rail mounting.

Ethernet for IT and automation

Beckhoff Building Automation enables integration of the IT and automation worlds with building automation using PC- and Ethernet-based control technology. Intelligent building services are based on a universal control platform: from the Industrial PC as a master or building computer, the Embedded PC with integrated I/O system, to the Ethernet controller for distributed applications around the building.

The modular I/O Bus Terminal system offers the right technology for all data and signal types. An extension of the Bus Terminal system components, that will make the system even more efficient for building applications, will be presented at CeBIT. What is new for example, are the EIB, LON and MP-Bus Terminals, which can be integrated into the Bus Terminal system with their corresponding sensors and actuators. In combination with higher-level PC- and Ethernet-based control technology a powerful and cost-effective overall system can thus be configured.

„Digital Living“ experience world

In order to make the „Digital Lifestyle“ subject more transparent and to display the synergies of various products, CeBIT has made an additional platform, for the first time, in hall 27, with solutions which can be tried out and tested. In addition to the Beckhoff main stand, the Beckhoff group will present themselves inside the „Digital Living“ experience world at stand B48, with Beckhoff Technik und Design, Elektro Beckhoff and Beckhoff Automation. The Beckhoff group offers complete solutions for the intelligent building: from expert advice, intelligent building control systems and up to installation.
