Beckhoff presents new generation of built-in Control Panels

"Economy" displays with 50 m DVI/USB extension

Control and display elements in familiar high quality with extended features, yet up to 40% more cost-effective! The CP69xx "Economy" Control Panels from Beckhoff offer the following benefits: high-performance displays in robust aluminium housing, with new technology, at a lower price. The DVI/USB extension is a further innovation that enables Panels to be installed at a distance of up to 50 m from the PC.

The built-in version of the CP69xx "Economy" Control Panels is available with 6.5, 12, 15 or 19 inch TFT display, optionally with touchscreen or touchpad, as monitor without keyboard or with different membrane keypad models, including full alphanumeric keyboards. The devices feature a new design that makes them 20% to 40% more cost-effective than previous models, while offering the same performance.

The built-in Panels have a high-quality aluminium frame with IP 65 protection at the front and are suitable as pure display devices for machine construction and system engineering applications, or as displays for production data acquisition, for operation & monitoring purposes, or as information panels.

The DVI/USB extension connection for the CP69xx is a real innovation. It enables devices to be installed at a distance of up to 50 m as standard; the maximum distance for conventional DVI connections is 5 m. While CP Link from Beckhoff enables ranges of up to 100 m, the market trend for panel applications is clearly towards using standard technologies such as DVI (for image transfer) and USB (for input devices such as touchscreen, keyboard, etc.).

The DVI/USB extension transfers graphics signals directly via a DVI cable over a maximum distance of 50 m, while the USB signal is transferred to a CAT 5 cable at the PC, in order to extend the 5 m limitation of the USB specification to a distance of up to 50 m. For distances up to 5 m the PC and the Control Panel can be connected directly via a USB cable.
