The purpose of the FIFO is to send externally generated set position values to the axes in the form of a speed pre-control. The set value generation is designed in such a way that both the set position and the set speed are determined as the FIFO inputs are worked through in sequence. It is also possible, if necessary, to interpolate between two neighbouring FIFO inputs. The number of axes that can be controlled by FIFO set value generation is only limited by the CPU’s computing power.
