The analog EL3204-0200 input terminal enables direct connection of four resistance sensors up to 240 kΩ with 2-wire connection. The available measuring range is significantly larger compared with the EL320x, thus enabling the use of high-impedance NTC sensors. The measured resistance value can either be output directly in ohms or immediately transformed into a temperature in the terminal. In the second case, the conversion from resistance to temperature can optionally be done according to preset characteristic curves (Pt1000, Ni1000, different NCT types), conversion formulas with specific material parameters (e.g. according to IEC 60751, Steinhart-Hart equation, B-parameter equation), or a freely programmable conversion table. The EtherCAT Terminals indicate their measuring capability by means of LEDs and status bits in the EtherCAT process image.
