Beckhoff implements open automation systems using proven PC-based control technology. The main areas that the product range covers are industrial PCs, I/O and fieldbus components, drive technology, automation software, control cabinet-free automation, and hardware for machine vision.

Responsibilities

  • exposure to the sales process of both Sales Engineers and Application Engineers as they work with customers to troubleshoot and analyze their needs
  • networking opportunities through customer visits, travel, and company events
  • exposure to the application side of Beckhoff Automation with skilled Application Engineers
  • gain hands on experience with products, customer visits, and troubleshooting for customers
  • extensive learning opportunities through online training, hands on training, and exposure to our Training team
  • develop an understanding of new automation technology that is changing the global market
  • collaborate with teammates and other intern groups to create a project using a multitude of different Beckhoff products
  • at the end of the internship, you will have the opportunity to present what you have learned to your peers and senior managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science in business, engineering or related technical field from a four-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience, 2-5 years’ experience
  • experience with programming languages IEC 61131-3 (object oriented extension), C#, C++, etc. Python, objective C-programming knowledge a plus
  • understanding of PLCs, motion control, robotics, distributed I/O, fieldbus systems (EtherCAT) and HMI technologies
  • experience with Windows, IT-networking and Microsoft Office applications
  • previos technical training or Beckhoff Automation experience
  • visual studio and/or object-oriented programming in automation
  • motion control experience
  • experience with electrical schematics
  • self-starter with a results-driven personality
  • strong analytical and reasoning skills to participate in a fast-paced, action-oriented team
  • ability to work in a high stress environment while maintaining professionalism
  • excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to customers, companywide, and/or at departmental meetings
  • approximately 25% travel
