Beckhoff Automation is seeking a new District Sales Manager. The District Sales Manager will be responsible for supporting and expanding the sales of all products and services offerings. The District Sales Manager will have revenue and growth responsibility for the territory, managing direct reports in field sales and field application engineering. This person will also have key account responsibility for a limited number of new and existing accounts. This position provides an excellent opportunity to lead a talented team while still engaged in a territory with large strategic key customers and excellent industry penetration. The role has a high concentration of current and potential automation customers across a diverse spectrum of applications and industries. The primary objective of this position is to provide sales and technical leadership for a highly qualified team of professionals. This person will be an active participant in the consultative sales process, while working as architect, coach, and mentor to accelerate the performance of an already successful team. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager, estimated travel is 30%.

Responsibilities

  • oversee and mentor territory team
  • develop large new OEM customers
  • grow existing customer market share
  • represent company at trade association meetings to promote products
  • work closely with Product Management, Industry Management, and Executive team to expand market share
  • hands on leadership style, highly interactive and comfortable in the field, field office and corporate headquarters
  • identify organizational resource needs and assist the RSM and HE in finding qualified candidates for future employment
  • advise customers on technical or procedural issues
  • advise others on business or operational matters
  • analyze financial records or reports to determine state of territorial sales
  • approve non- standard expenditures
  • determine pricing or monetary policies
  • direct sales, marketing, or customer service activities
  • establish interpersonal business relationships to facilitate work activities
  • evaluate employee performance
  • evaluate potential of products, technologies, or resources
  • prepare operational budgets
  • represent the organization in external relations
  • resolve customer complaints or problems
  • supervise employees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a technical sales or application engineering role
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a sales management role
