The linear actuators from the AA1000 series are the ideal drive for the electronic control of valves and linear adjusting units. In addition to the servo drive, an absolute measuring system is integrated; the actuator thus represents a complete adjustable axis without further mounted parts. The version with a stainless steel housing additionally offers a suitable solution for the most adverse environmental conditions. All versions are equipped as standard with a shaft with an external thread on which commercially available adapters such as ball heads or clamping hooks from the pneumatic/hydraulic assortment can be mounted.
They are mounted via a B5 flange and commissioning takes place using the familiar Drive Manager, with the communication taking place via EtherCAT.
In comparison with conventional pneumatics, a considerably higher positioning accuracy is achieved with the linear actuator. This results in higher process reliability, which has an advantageous effect especially with distributed systems. Depending on the application, the use of electronics can save up to 75 % energy in comparison with pneumatics, which rapidly makes the use of the linear actuator economically interesting. To supplement the actuators, Beckhoff supplies the necessary ready-to-connect cables and the software.
