Following three successful trade show days, the Tire Technology Expo in Hanover drew to a close on 22 February 2018. Over 5,000 trade visitors came to the international exhibition and conference for tyre design and production to get information about the latest trends and developments in the industry. "We are extremely satisfied with the result of this year's trade show", says Klaus Büttner, Beckhoff Business Manager Tyre Industry. "The presence of Beckhoff at the Tire Technology Expo is virtually a must. It offers us a good platform, firstly to gain new customers and secondly to stay in touch with existing customers – outside of daily business. The range here extends from the initial test results in digitalisation through to specific machine retrofits on the basis of new products and technologies. The great visitor interest at the Beckhoff trade show booth showed that we were able to provide answers to the central challenges facing the tyre and rubber industry with our main points: cloud-assisted automation and reduction of the machine footprint."
Highlights at the Beckhoff trade show booth included EtherCAT P, the one cable solution for the field level with which the cabling work can be halved, as well as the AMP8000 Distributed Servo Drive System, which integrates the servo drive directly in the servo motor. "This not only saves the user space in the control cabinet, but also opens up new ways of implementing modular plant concepts. The trade visitors also showed great interest in the TwinSAFE Single Channel modules, which allow standard signals to be used for safety tasks in any networks or fieldbuses", says Alexander Kruse, Key Account Manager at Beckhoff.
