The implementation of the MIDI standard in the controller via the TwinCAT TCP/IP software module opens up new fields of application in the entertainment sector. The EL2596 EtherCAT Terminal enables high-precision control of LEDs. Further highlights at the Beckhoff booth include the expansion of the ultra-compact Industrial PC series with a device with extended interface scope and TwinCAT HMI, the software tool for rapid creation of platform-independent user interfaces.

TwinCAT Speech: the controller that talks

TwinCAT Speech enables the controller to understand and output voice signals. This makes the interaction between people and the control system much more convenient, particularly in media and building technology applications. In combination with TwinCAT Vision for system-integrated image processing, TwinCAT Speech can be used to implement a controller that can hear, see and speak.

MIDI integrated, entertainment optimised

At ISE Beckhoff will demonstrate how MIDI applications can communicate with Ethernet via TCP/IP using Open Sound Control (OSC). The basis for MIDI integration into the Beckhoff controller is the TF6310 TwinCAT TCP/IP server module, which facilitates implementation of one or more TCP/IP servers or clients.

Ultra-compact Industrial PCs: high-end computing power in a device with ultra-compact design

The Industrial PC series that started with the C6015 has proven itself through its low space requirement, universal usability and flexible mounting. The C6017 offers additional interfaces and an integrated UPS. The C6030 was developed for applications with maximum power requirements. Apart from the wellknown benefits, the PC features maximum computing power: the multi-core computer integrates Intel® Core™ i processors of the 6th and 7th generation and offers top performance with up to 3.6 GHz per core with 4 cores. Beckhoff is presenting the consistent further development of the Industrial PC series as a new item: in comparison with the C6030, the C6032 offers additional interfaces.
