PC-based control integrates all building automation functions on one platform

More and more industrial buildings employ intelligent building automation systems, because seamless interaction of all components reduces costs both during construction and operation. The building automation system measures, controls, regulates and optimizes the complex operations of the different trades depending on the building’s utilization, thus ensuring that everything works efficiently. For example, the building automation controls the lighting in storage areas, production areas and on roadways based on demand, time of day, season, and the presence of people. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems run with optimized speed only when required as well. Using smart-grid functions, the systems can even be switched on or off depending on the power grid load or to avoid high peak loads.

The extensive Beckhoff Bus Terminal portfolio features I/O modules for a wide spectrum of applications and functions. Mechanical ventilation systems with automated roof vents can be controlled via the Beckhoff KL2722 Bus Terminal. The KM3702 can be used to monitor and measure air pressure, e.g., of compressed air. For reading and analyzing the consumption of heat, water and gas as well as power meters, the KL6781 M-Bus master terminal is available. The KL3403 power monitoring terminal is used for the direct metering of electricity, in form of Beckhoff I/O terminals. Beckhoff's product range also covers applications where high reliability and precise control is needed, such as for clean room applications.
