EtherCAT Extends its Reach into the IP 67 World

With the expansion of the Beckhoff Fieldbus Box family via the EtherCAT Box, EtherCAT I/O technology no longer needs an electrical cabinet. All modules from this IP 67-rated series feature an integrated direct interface to EtherCAT, so that the system’s high performance is retained down to each I/O module. This opens up new possibilities in the “machine mount” IP 67 world: fast process data communication with XFC, high-precision measurement technology and integrated drive functions directly in the field.

Highlights
		EtherCAT Box: With dimensions of only 126 x 30/60 x 26.5 mm (H x W x D) the modules are exceptionally small and are well-suited for applications where space is limited.

		EtherCAT is the Ethernet solution for industrial automation, characterised by outstanding performance and particularly simple handling.

		XFC \| eXtreme Fast Control Technology: XFC represents a control technology that enables very fast and highly deterministic responses. The XFC communication is based on EtherCAT technologies.

		EP2338 \| Freely configurable 8-channel digital input or output box: The EP2338 EtherCAT Box has eight freely configurable digital inputs or outputs in one device. The signals are connected optionally via screw type M8 or M12 connectors.
