TwinCAT Virtual Serial COM Driver

The driver inserts one or more EL60xx EtherCAT Terminals as normal serial interfaces (‘COMx’) in Windows CE or XP. Configuration takes place in the TwinCAT System Manager, wherein it is defined for each EL60xx whether or not and on which computer a serial interface should be created for it. Access to the device connected to the terminal then takes place via Windows API for serial interfaces. In this way, even existing Windows applications can be used to read data via an EL60xx from devices with serial interfaces, such as bar code scanners.
