The PS9401-2440-0000 redundancy module is suitable for the setup of a redundant, fail-safe supply network. It is equipped with two inputs, to which two 20 A power supplies with 12 V DC or 24 V DC can be connected. The output can continuously conduct rated currents of up to 40 A. The module is suitable for power supplies with constant current overload behavior (UI characteristic) as well as every type of hiccup overload behavior. The redundancy module uses MOSFETs to decouple the two inputs; this reduces heat generation and the voltage drop between input and output. The redundancy module requires no additional auxiliary voltage and is autonomous even in case of a short-circuit at the output. Due to the low losses, the module is very compact and requires an installation width of just 36 mm on the DIN rail.
