The EL6689 EtherCAT Terminal is a synchronization terminal for distributed clocks via direct connection to the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). An antenna for this can be connected directly to the terminal via an antenna (SMA) connector. All active GNSS are supported: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou. Thus, separate systems can be kept synchronized worldwide with a synchronicity of 100 ns, which elicits many advantages, e.g. for distributed space observation systems or distributed measurement systems for monitoring mains supplies.
