The EJ6224-0090 EtherCAT plug-in module is an IO-Link master and enables connection of up to four IO-Link devices. IO-Link devices are actuators, sensors or a combination of both. The connection between the module and the device is a point-to-point connection.

 

The EJ6224-0090 also supports TwinSAFE SC (TwinSAFE Single Channel). This enables the use of standard signals for safety tasks in any networks of fieldbuses.

 

The EJ6224-0090 is parameterized via the EtherCAT master. IO-Link is designed as an intelligent link between the fieldbus level and the sensor, wherein parameterization information can be exchanged bidirectionally via the IO-Link connection. The parameterization of the IO-Link devices with service data is carried out from TwinCAT via ADS or very conveniently via the integrated IO-Link commissioning tool. The tool enables automatic scanning of the IO-Link devices, convenient sensor parameter processing, and an integrated online search for sensor description files.
