The Next multi-touch Panel PCs from Beckhoff are cost-optimized solutions that don't compromise on quality or functionality. They are incredibly easy to use thanks to advanced multi-touch technology and a high-quality design. A lean system, standardized interfaces, an electronics overhaul, and the latest processor generations ensure that industrial applications are future-proofed to a very high standard. The peripherals have also been updated: the latest interface technologies, storage media, and cable solutions make these devices especially fast and powerful. With the new CP46xx (built-in) and CP56xx (mounted) multi-core Panel PCs with Arm® processors, Beckhoff is paving the way for lean Linux®-based applications as well as HMI and edge solutions. The high-performance Arm® processors have six cores, consisting of two 2.0 GHz Arm Cortex®-A78 and four 2.0 GHz Arm® Cortex®-A55 cores, thus striking an excellent balance between performance and efficiency. This cost-efficient all-rounder is equally suited to be a second or third panel for modern HMI solutions in extensive systems or a Linux®-based real-time controller for small to medium TwinCAT applications.
The CP47xx (built-in) and CP57xx (mounted) Panel PC series are based on the latest Intel Atom® x7 CPUs. The base clock rates for the variants, which currently boast up to four cores, range from 1.5 to 2 GHz. This CPU type also combines high performance with energy efficiency and high reliability. The advanced multi-core architecture enables virtualization and parallel execution of various edge applications including HMI and AI inference, and can implement any automation project, from mid-range to highly complex.
Balance between latest PC technology and long-term availability of control components
Thanks to advanced Industrial PC technology in a wide range of form factors and the TwinCAT automation software, Beckhoff Panel PCs are at the core of a wide range of automation tasks, including control of machines, processes and logistics systems, networking of plant components, data acquisition and image processing. For classic control tasks, PC-based control technology offers excellent scalability and flexibility and is therefore increasingly being used in place of hardware PLCs.
