AM8100 | Synchronous servomotors for compact drive technology

High dynamics open up a multitude of possible applications

The servomotors from the AM8100 series of the AM8000 family are specially designed for operation on the servo I/Os. The compact servomotors in the power range from 50 to 750 W offer a complete construction kit in the low voltage range. The high dynamics of the servomotors open up a multitude of possible applications: for example in industrial robots for pick-and-place applications, or in general in mechanical engineering, where a compact design and high positioning accuracy are necessary. Like all motors from the AM8000 family, the AM8100 can be obtained in a One Cable Technology (OCT) version with 24-bit encoder, so that power and feedback are combined in a single cable.

Homing is no longer necessary thanks to the absolute encoder integrated in the motor: The position of the drive is saved in the EEPROM, which is ideal for adjustable axes. The transmission of the encoder data to the servo I/Os takes place entirely digitally via the motor cable; the encoder cable can be omitted. The full integration of the servo terminal in the Beckhoff control system facilitates the commissioning of the drive axis. All motors from the AM8000 family use the electronic identification plate, with which the engineering effort is additionally reduced by the simple reading of the motor parameters. The TwinCAT automation software enables convenient parameterization of the servomotors.

The AM8100 motors can optionally be equipped with a backlash-free permanent magnet holding brake, a sealing ring or a feather key groove. They are alternatively available with an absolute feedback system (OCT) or a sturdy rotary resolver encoder. To guarantee their durability, they are equipped with generously dimensioned bearings for general mechanical engineering. Matching gears and prefabricated connecting cables complete the ultra-compact drive axis.
