Combining building automation with facility services

A showcase in the Hailo factory museum introduces how to connect building automation with the Facility Data Standard FDS. Various communication protocols like DALI-2, SMI, BACnet, CAN bus and KNX have been combined with MQTT and HTTPS/Rest. The video shows how building owners and operators can benefit from this data exchange. Starting from requesting the meeting information from an Outlook 365 calendar, retrieving the cleaning status of the room, convenient conditions in the meeting room up to the cleaning services after the meetings have finished provide a perfect chain of information and interaction. Additional sources include services like OpenWeatherMap to retrieve the current weather and forecast. OpenStreetMaps may e.g. be used to identify the location of the floor cleaning machine.
