Power supplies for 24 V and 48 V DC

Power supplies for 24 V and 48 V DC

The PS9031-4820-0001 buffer module is an add-on module for 48 V DC regulated power supplies and can be used for various purposes:

  • supply of direct current for bridging the failure of DC power supply systems
  • extension of the hold-up time after failure of the mains voltage
  • short-term supply of an additional peak current that lies above the nominal current of the power supply

As buffer voltage, there is a choice between a fixed value of 45 V DC or a value that depends on the input voltage. The buffer current, which is supplied with the aid of electrolytic capacitors, is around 20 A at 45 V for typically 150 ms. The transition between normal and buffer operation is gapless. The status of the buffer module can be read via additional signal contacts, e.g. whether the buffer capacitors are fully charged or the device is in buffer mode. Regular maintenance or replacement of the capacitors is not necessary. All modules are electronically protected against overload and short-circuit and can be operated in a wide temperature range.
