Presentation of the MX-System
MC-type modules are computer modules for the Beckhoff MX-System. They have the hardware and software features of an industrial PC, coupled with the robust and IP67-protected MX housing design.
Together with the operating systems offered and the Beckhoff TwinCAT automation suite, MC modules form the central control element of an MX-System and function as EtherCAT masters for all other components in the system.
The MC6015-0030-1217 has an x6 series Intel Atom® processor and therefore offers higher CPU performance in the low power dissipation range up to a max. of 12 W. Plenty of computing power is provided with up to four CPU cores. In addition to being suitable for a wide range of automation tasks, the MC6015-0030-1217 is mainly used as an IoT gateway or as an edge device. The basis for this is the full integration and compatibility of TwinCAT and EtherCAT.
