The EPP1819-0005 EtherCAT P Box with digital inputs acquires binary control signals from the process level and transfers them, with electrical isolation, to the controller. The signal state is displayed by LEDs; the signals are connected via screwable 4-pin M8 connectors. Thus, sensors, ideally with antivalent channels (NC/NO, change-over), can be connected directly by means of a 4-pin cable.

The sensors are supplied from the control voltage US. The load voltage UP is not used in the input module, but it can optionally be connected for forwarding and is fed through to the next device.

The connected sensors are supplied via an internal, short-circuit proof driver block with a total of 0.5 A for all sensors.

Thanks to the 10 µs input filter the EPP1819-0005 is particularly suitable for electronic inputs, which transmit to the controller with the shortest delay thanks to the short filter time. The use of antivalent sensors additionally enables diagnostics of the sensor.
