New ordering option for AS2000 stepper motors

AS2000 | New ordering option: Incremental encoder interface with 5 V power supply and TTL/RS422 interface

Stepper motors are synchronous motors with a high number of poles, which can therefore be regarded as direct drives. Advantages include high holding torque and very good positioning capability. By intelligently controlling the stator windings in full or micro-step mode, individual steps or partial steps can be driven to without position feedback. This distinguishes stepper motors from servomotors and makes them a cost-effective alternative. Excessive acceleration and fast load cycles can result in the stepper motor no longer being able to follow the rotary field and "losing steps". The encoder option can improve matters in this situation.

The AS2000 stepper motor series will be extended by the widely used incremental encoder interface with 5 V power supply and TTL/RS422 interface. This variant fits perfectly to the EL7062 2-channel stepper motor terminal.

The EL7062 EtherCAT Terminal is intended for the direct connection of two stepper motors in the mid power range up to 3 A and a voltage range from 8…48 V. The compact stepper motor output stage is accommodated in the EtherCAT Terminal together with two digital inputs for limit switches. Through parameterization, the EL7062 can be adjusted to the motor and the application requirements. Extremely high micro-stepping ensures particularly quiet and precise motor operation.
