Beckhoff at ISE Integrated Systems Europe: Hall 10, Booth N136

PC-based control allows seamless integration of media and control technology on one platform

Open Control Architecture integration for seamless communication with audio systems

Beckhoff is to take part for the first time at ISE, the leading European trade fair for audio, lighting, event and communication technology, which runs from 9 to 12 February 2016 in Amsterdam. The specialist for PC-based control will present the company's versatile product portfolio and range of solutions at its exhibition booth. Providing all relevant interfaces for AV multimedia and lighting systems, the integrated automation platform allows the seamless integration of media technology, lighting control, building automation and control logic. With the recently introduced support for Open Control Architecture, the vendor-independent standard for audio and video systems, Beckhoff is expanding its expertise in the area of media technology even further.

Since 1980, PC-based control from Beckhoff has been proven globally in the widest range of industries and applications, from machine control to control of wind power systems and building automation. Owing to its openness and scalability as well as integration of all media and stage technology-related protocols Beckhoff control technology has also become indispensable in the world of media, stage and show technology.

At the heart of the control solution are robust Industrial PCs with TwinCAT as a universal automation software. Together with EtherCAT, the Ethernet-based, real-time capable fieldbus system, these IPCs offer a high-performance automation platform for integrating PLC, visualisation, motion control, safety technology and measuring technology. Beckhoff I/O systems can be used to integrate the whole range of sensors and actuators. More than 400 signal types are available for integrating digital and analog standard signals, lighting technology, motion control and SIL 3-compliant safety functions through to condition monitoring. All requirements for the highly precise control of moving objects are fulfilled by the broad range of scalable drive technology components.

DALI /LON wide array of interfaces for flexibly integrating systems and devices

With support for Open Control Architecture, DMX, SMPTE TimeCode, Crestron, Bang & Olufsen, Art-Net™ and Streaming ACN (sACN), all devices and systems that are important in stage and media technology can be integrated into the Beckhoff automation platform. For building technology applications the system can also support standards such as KNX/EIB, DALI, BACnet, M-Bus, MP-Bus and SMI. "As a result of the Open Control Architecture implementation our modular system is now even more flexible and also allows remote control and operation of professional audio systems," Michel Matuschke sums up, Vertical Market Manager Stage and Show Technology at Beckhoff.

All different systems and their functionalities can be programmed and configured using the integrated TwinCAT automation software. There are also a variety of software components for diagnostics and configuration available, which greatly simplify the engineering process.
