TwinCAT 3 Interface for NX™ Mechatronics Concept Designer™ is a tool for easy configuration of a coupling between TwinCAT and the NX™ Mechatronics Concept Designer™ 3D CAD software from Siemens. The aim of this coupling is to create a software-in-the-loop simulation (SiL) of the target sequence of a machine or system to support virtual commissioning.

3D simulation of machine and plant components is a central part of the implementation of a virtual commissioning. In the simulation, the movements and interactions of the individually installed components are displayed in the group and collisions and critical system states are determined in advance. In addition, the simulation is used to train operators and maintenance staff in advance for regular operation and to define work instructions for troubleshooting using simulated critical machine conditions. Typically, pre-sales training for sales support for machinery or machine components can also be given using 3D simulations.

With TwinCAT 3 Interface for NX™ Mechatronics Concept Designer™ it's easy to implement 3D simulation: it uses the design data from the CAD tool and links it with the automation data. The parameterization of this coupling is equally simple and is performed via drag and drop. The parameterization can be extended as required to map complex relationships. Software-in-the-loop simulation of the machines, systems, or installed components is thus easy and convenient, even for system expansions.

TE1135 TwinCAT 3 Interface Maintenance for NX™ Mechatronics Concept Designer™ is available as a maintenance license for the TE1134 basic product. TE1135 includes a valid maintenance period of 12 months when purchased for the first time. Functional updates of the software can be executed during this period. After 12 months, the software can still be used without any restrictions. However, new functions can no longer be imported without extending the maintenance license. TE1135 cannot be used without the basic product.
