TC399x | TwinCAT 3 Restricted RuntimeNew

The TwinCAT 3 Restricted Runtime license was specially developed for use in continuous integration, continuous deployment, and simulation processes. It enables flexible, recurrent use in development and test environments but is not intended for live operation. The scope of delivery includes a defined selection of runtime licenses for TwinCAT 3 products that are specifically tailored to simulation and automation tests. The basic license must be purchased in order to use the Restricted Runtime license. This basic license is required so that further machines can subsequently be equipped with sub-licenses and used in development and test environments.

Through an integrated sanction function, the software automatically switches to TwinCAT’s configuration mode after six hours of operation during runtime. In this mode, full use of the license is no longer possible. The software can only be activated and used again after a restart. Individual licenses (e.g., TC1220 TwinCAT 3 PLC/C++/MATLAB® and Simulink®) must be purchased in order to use the software in live systems.

Licensing is carried out exclusively via a TwinCAT USB dongle (C9900-L100), which is an essential technical prerequisite. The delivery can either be pre-activated on a new TwinCAT USB dongle or – if a compatible TwinCAT USB dongle is already available – via the usual activation method. All TwinCAT 3 runtime licenses are issued for platform level 94.
