The EtherCAT plug-in module EJ5002 is an SSI master and allows the direct connection of two absolute encoders with SSI (synchronous serial interface) via the signal distribution board. Both singleturn and multiturn encoders are supported. The 24 V supply of the encoder can be provided directly via the feed-in on the signal distribution board. The EJ9505 power supply module can be used for an optional 5 V power.

 

Extensive parameterization options allow optimum adaptation to different encoder types.

  • separate evaluation of a status error bit (power fail bit) in the process data

 

In addition, the EJ5002 offers a multiple transmission mode for the clock rate to check data integrity. Via the distributed clocks function, the position value is read out exactly synchronously with other processes. If the distributed clocks function is deactivated, the EJ5002 clocks synchronize with the EtherCAT cycle. The encoder profile enables simple and fast linking of process data for motion control applications.
