With TwinCAT 3 automation software Beckhoff has extended the options of PC-based control technology. The integration into Microsoft Visual Studio® and the introduction of new functions such as support for the object-oriented extension of IEC 61131-3, the use of C/C++ as programming language for real-time applications or the integration of Matlab®/Simulink®, offer users new options for programming of PLC, NC, CNC or robotics runtime systems.

With eXtended Motion Control, the TwinCAT automation software offers an integrated and scalable motion control solution for applications including simple point-to-point motion, CNC and robot control. In this 30-minute webinar Dr. Josef Papenfort, TwinCAT Product Manager, presents the TwinCAT 3 Motion Control functions.

The webinar is aimed at practice-oriented users who already have some experience with TwinCAT automation software and with programming according to IEC 61131-3.

TF5000 | TwinCAT 3 NC PTP 10 Axes

TwinCAT 3 NC PTP 10 Axes implements motion control for point-to-point movements in software. The axes are represented by axis objects and provide a cyclic interface, e.g. for the PLC. This axis object is then linked to a corresponding physical axis. In this way, the most diverse axis types with the most diverse fieldbus interfaces can be connected in an abstract way with the axis objects, which always offer an identical configuration interface. Control of the axes can be implemented in various configurations (position or velocity interface) and various controllers. The axes are configured in TwinCAT Engineering.
