Successful customer event on artificial intelligence in industrial applications
Making artificial intelligence accessible to machine and system engineering – with maximum practicality – was the goal of an exclusive AI event that Beckhoff held in June 2026. Just two days after registration opened, the event was completely sold out – clearly indicating that the event was perfectly aligned with the industry’s needs. To allow everyone interested to attend, a quick decision was made to move the event from the Munich subsidiary to the Veranstaltungsforum Fürstenfeld cultural center, making it possible to accommodate around 100 attendees.
The event kicked off with a keynote presentation by Nicolas Camargo Torres, TwinCAT Product Manager, who provided an in-depth introduction to AI in automation technology. He analyzed current developments, outlined current applications, and presented the Beckhoff portfolio of AI tools in TwinCAT. Elias Müller demonstrated how these work in practice during the first live demo. Drawing on his extensive experience as an application engineer, he took the attendees on a journey into the world of TwinCAT CoAgent and demonstrated in detail how this intelligent tool supports users during development and operation.
After a lunch break, during which the participants took the opportunity to hold in-depth discussions with the Beckhoff experts, the second live demo was a deep dive into the TwinCAT Machine Learning Creator. Application engineer Maximilian Grimm provided a visualization of the entire workflow – from initial data sets to the finished model. Step by step, customers learned how to seamlessly create powerful AI models even without in-depth knowledge of data science. The event program was supplemented by a concise AI hardware guide: titled “Which IPC is right for your application?”, it provided valuable guidance based on real-world project examples.
In the concluding outlook, the potential of AI in machine building was clearly highlighted once again, accompanied by exclusive insights into the Beckhoff AI roadmap. Christopher Kleinert, who works in sales at Beckhoff, said in summation: “Our event was a complete success! It sold out and confirmed with certainty that AI in machine building and industry is no longer an abstract idea that belongs to the future. People are actively asking for this technology right now – and the AI tools in TwinCAT are already providing users with the right solutions for practical use.”
