MSxxxx | System modules

System modules are available in both size 1 and size 2. Within the MX-System portfolio, the system modules perform different tasks that are required to enable a complete replacement of the control cabinet.

MS1xxx supply, fuse protection and switching of the mains voltage
The MS1 modules have a wide range of features and options. Primarily, they offer the possibility to connect the 3~ +N system voltage to the system. A terminal connection with a corresponding cable gland is available for this purpose. The module also contains fuses and a 4-pole main switch. This can be locked in position 0. Additional functions of the modules can be 24 V DC power supplies and energy measurement technology. In a simple version, the mains voltage or also the 24 V DC can then be made available to the MX-System via the modules in a version using plug connectors.

MS2xxx bus couplers
Bus couplers are available in both size 1 and size 2. The following design variants of the bus couplers are available:

  • EtherCAT input and output
  • EtherCAT input and output with additional connections for 24 V DC
  • EtherCAT P with 24 V DC and 48 V DC
  • EtherCAT P with 400 V AC and 600 V DC
  • EtherCAT P with 400 V AC and 600 V DC and integrated 24 V DC power supply unit
  • EtherCAT P with 230 V AC and integrated 24 V DC power supply unit

MS4xxx power supplies
In addition to the possibility of using power supply units integrated in the power supply modules and bus couplers, 24 V DC power supply units can also be used as stand-alone modules instead or in addition. The parallel connection of power supply units can be conveniently set using the EtherCAT functionality, which is available in all power supply units. In addition to the 24 V DC power supply units, 48 V DC power supply units are also available. Power supplies are available for single-phase and three-phase AC voltages as well as for DC voltages of up to 848 V and different power classes. Further features are the active harmonic filters as well as a transient protection and the fuses for the input voltages. Optionally, the power supply units are also equipped with additional ports on the front of the modules, e.g. for connecting AMI decentralized servo motors.

MS6xxx power outputs

'The MS6xxx system modules have the task of providing voltages and EtherCAT with the aid of EtherCAT P connectors and lines for substations. The outgoing voltages are fused in the modules. In the case of 400 V AC and 600 V DC, the fuses can be easily replaced in the event of a fault. All modules monitor the current and in the case of 24 V DC and 48 V DC the voltages are also switchable. The following basic functions are available:

  • power output EtherCAT P with 24 V DC, 48 V DC
  • power output EtherCAT P with 400 V AC, 600 V DC
  • power output EtherCAT P 230 V AC

MS7xxx Ethernet and EtherCAT switches
Switches for Ethernet and EtherCAT based on the Beckhoff CU1xxx and CU2xxx series.

MS8xxx uninterruptible power supply
Capacitive or battery-supported, uninterruptible power supplies with 2 connections as well as UPS OCT communication.

MS9xxx empty housing
Extension of the baseplate for the installation of e.g. special control units. The connections of power 400 V AC and power 600 V DC are led out without further fuse protection. The connections for EtherCAT and 24 V DC/48 V DC are led out fused.
