The new generation of analog terminals

EL307x | EL4x7x

Analog multi-I/Os with 16 bits and up to 8 channels

The EL3078 input and the EL4072, EL4074, and EL4078 outputs will be added to the range of analog multi-functional terminals which includes the EL3072 and EL3074 inputs and the EL4374 combination terminal. All terminals in this range are equipped with a 16-bit resolution, a 2-ksps sampling rate and up to eight channels, thus setting the standard for analog signal processing.

The EL3078 has been added to the portfolio; it is an 8-channel terminal with the same functions as the 2- and 4-channel versions that are already available. The EL307x inputs process all known standard signals in the ±10 V and ±20 mA range, and the new EL407x outputs give out these signals in the same range. All outputs can be parameterized individually and are single-ended to reduce cabling work. The current outputs can have high load resistances and detect operating faults such as overload, wire breakage, or short circuiting via a diagnostic feature. The EtherCAT Terminals have an extended output range of ±107% which can also be used to transmit atypical setpoints, e.g. for error transmission.

Features

  • multi-functional channels for all standard signals: ±10 V, ±20 mA

  • powerful outputs against high-impedance loads: 750 Ω (current) or > 2 kΩ (voltage)
  • output diagnostics: short-circuit and overload detection
  • extended measurement/output range of 107%

Products

EL3072 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel analog input, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 12 bit

EL3072 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel analog input, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 12 bit

The EL3072 and EL3074 analog input terminals are the 10 V/20 mA universal inputs of the 12-bit class. The EL3072 has two single parameterizable inputs. Signals either in the range -10/0…+10 V or in the range -20/0/+4…+20 mA can be processed by each channel. Physically, the voltage and current signals should be connected to different terminal points. Each channel should then be set by the controller/TwinCAT to U or I mode via CoE. The voltage and current inputs are single-ended, which means that one connection point of each channel is connected in the terminal to +24 V or GND. All inputs are digitized with a resolution of 12 bits and transmitted electrically isolated to the higher-level automation device. With a technical measuring range of ±107% of the nominal range, the terminal also supports commissioning with sensor values in the limit range and the evaluation according to NAMUR NE43.

EL3074 | EtherCAT Terminal, 4-channel analog input, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 12 bit

EL3074 | EtherCAT Terminal, 4-channel analog input, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 12 bit

The EL3072 and EL3074 analog input terminals are the 10 V/20 mA universal inputs of the 12-bit class. The EL3074 has four single parameterizable inputs.

EL3078 | EtherCAT Terminal, 8-channel analog input, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, single-ended, 2 ksps New

EL3078 | EtherCAT Terminal, 8-channel analog input, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, single-ended, 2 ksps

The EL3072, EL3074, and EL3078 analog input terminals record 10 V / 20 mA standard signals with 16-bit resolution and up to 2000 measured values per second. Each channel can be parameterized individually via the controller/TwinCAT; signals in the range of -10…+10 V, 0…+10 V, -20…+20 mA, 0…+20 mA, and 4…+20 mA can be processed by each channel. In terms of electrics, the voltage and current signals must be connected to different terminal points. The voltage and current inputs are single-ended, which means that one connection point of each channel is already connected in the terminal to +24 V or GND and no longer needs to be wired separately. With a technical measuring range of ±107% of the nominal range, the terminals also support commissioning with sensor values in the limit range and the evaluation according to NAMUR NE43.

EL4374 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel analog input + 2-channel analog output, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, 2 ksps New

EL4374 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel analog input + 2-channel analog output, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, 2 ksps

The EL4374 analog input terminal combines two analog inputs and two analog outputs that can be individually parameterized by the controller/TwinCAT via CoE for current or voltage operation. Depending on the setting, the channels process signals with 2 ksps in the range of -10/0 to +10 V or -20/0/+4 to +20 mA.

EL4072 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel analog output, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, 2 ksps New

EL4072 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel analog output, multi-function, ±10 V, ±20 mA, 16 bit, 2 ksps

The EL4072, EL4074, and EL4078 analog output terminals output 10 V/20 mA standard signals with 16-bit resolution and up to 2000 values per second. Each channel can be parameterized individually via the controller/TwinCAT. All known standard signals in the range of ±10 V and ±20 mA can be output per channel – for example, 4…20 mA. The current outputs can also drive high burden resistors and report an overload or wire break or, in the case of a voltage output, a short circuit. The voltage and current outputs are designed as single-ended, which means that one connection point of each channel is already connected in the terminal to +24 V or GND and no longer needs to be wired separately. The EL4072 and EL4074 have 24 V/0 V contacts for the supply of the actuators. With a technical output range of ±107% of the nominal range, the channels can even transport unconventional setpoints, such as for error reporting purposes.
