This class provides a comprehensive accelerated experience to better understand the basics of, and troubleshooting techniques for, the core technologies involved in Beckhoff-controlled industrial automation systems.

Audience

Controls engineers with full software access responsible for commissioning or sustaining TwinCAT enabled machinery.

Contents

This course will teach the student how to:

  • Better support comprehensive Beckhoff machine applications through the reinforcement of fundamental technical information
  • Troubleshoot the following technologies through hands-on exercises with a running application:
    • TwinCAT runtime
    • EtherCAT fieldbus
    • TwinSAFE
    • NC PTP motion
    • IO hardware
    • PLC logic
  • Prioritize troubleshooting steps to reduce machine downtime
  • Work efficiently to navigate the engineering environment (XAE)
  • Take multi-level machine backups
  • Manage software versions properly
  • Leverage critical tips and tricks

Prerequisites

  • One of the following is required:
    • TR3029, TR3028, or TR3038 (in person course)
    • Beckhoff Machine Builder – Core Functionality Learning Path (online courses at https://learn.beckhoffus.com)
