The FC532x PC plug-in cards connect the PC (PCI Express®) to a CAN FD network. CAN FD is a further development of the very common CAN hardware. The advantage of CAN FD is that up to 64 bytes of data can be sent and received in one CAN frame by operating the data range with a higher baud rate. The option is also available to operate the FC532x CAN FD cards in the classic CAN mode of the FC512x CANopen card. The CAN FD functionality can be operated via the CAN interface and enables layer-2 access. If the card is operated as a CANopen master/slave, only the classic CAN mode can be used.
