ExThe ELX4181 analog output terminal is used for the direct control of intrinsically safe field devices located in hazardous areas classified Zone 0/20 or 1/21. It can optionally function as a 0…20 mA or 4…20 mA interface and enables communication with the help of the HART protocol (Highway Adressable Remote Transducer). The HART protocol enables two-way communication through digital data transfer via the analog interface. The TwinCAT FDT container enables the integration of field device DTMs into TwinCAT Engineering, so that the device configuration and diagnostic functions are available directly within the development environment. The ELX4181 is supplied via the power contacts of the ELX9560 power feed terminal. Error LEDs signal overload and wire breakage, and additional LEDs provide information about the state of the HART communication and indicate any communication errors.
